Matt R. Powell is an Owner and General Manager of Windermere Real Estate/Lane County. Windermere Real Estate/Lane County covers the largest geographical area of any other real estate company in Lane County -- with offices in Eugene, Springfield, and Creswell. His overall focus is on the growth and development of the Company.

As a life-long member of Lane County and graduate from the University of Oregon, he continues to be very active in the community. Once a collegiate athlete at the UO, he has volunteered many hours coaching wrestling. With an extensive background in Real Estate, Matt’s experience includes: property management, real estate investing, and working as both a Buyer’s and Seller’s agent. As a Sales Associate, Broker, and currently Principal Broker, Matt has achieved many accolades in his career.

In 2003 Matt was elected to the Board of the Eugene Association of Realtors, and as an Alternate for the Oregon Association of Realtors.

In 2005, Matt was nominated to act as the governing policy director for the Eugene Association of Realtors, and is a graduate of the Northwest Leadership Institute. In addition to being an active member of The Oregon Association of Realtors, Matt is currently on the Strategic Planning Committee.

Matt is a regular lecturer on real estate topics for Windermere Services of Oregon, The University of Oregon, and he teaches Real Estate Practices at Lane Community College.

In June 2006, Matt was honored as a “30 under 30 REALTOR”. REALTOR Magazine profiled 30 real estate professionals under the age of 30. With more than 550 applicants Matt was selected and profiled in the National REALTOR Magazine.

His Professional memberships include: Eugene Association of Realtors, Springfield Association of Realtors, Cottage Grove Association of Realtors, Oregon Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Commercial Association of Realtors, Regional Multiple Listing Service, Eugene Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Creswell Chamber of Commerce, and Home Builder’s Association.

In addition to a proven leader in the real estate industry, locally and nationally, Matt serves on variety of the Boards throughout Lane County. Matt currently serves on the Lane Metro Partnership Board, Home Builders Government affairs committee, and is a member of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for Eugene Comprehensive Lands Assessment. Matt is an emeritus board member for the Metropolitan Affordable Housing Corporation, and serves as a member and volunteers for United Way’s Healthy Economy, Healthy Families Steering Committee. He also spends time, in a volunteer/donor role, with Shelter Care.

Matt and Tanya, once known as `Team Powell` purchased Windermere Real Estate/Lane County in April 2003. As owners their overall focus is the company, brokers and staff. They enjoy a hands on and long term committed role as local active owners.

Windermere Real Estate/Lane County (the Company) has deep historical roots. Founded in 1974 by Jean Tate, after great success the company was sold in 1989 to a group of eight local real estate brokers. Jean Tate Real Estate became part of the Windermere franchise in 1998.

The Powells were brokers with Windermere/Jean Tate Real Estate prior to ownership. Windermere/Jean Tate Real Estate became Windermere Real Estate/Lane County in December 2005.
